King of the Castle is a much loved licensed café in Geelong. it is loved for good reasons. It’s a serious coffee venue now adding quality dining – particularly superior breakfasts and lunch to its repertoire.
Contemporary, creative and perfectly executed King of the Castle is resetting the licenced café benchmark. It’s a terrific venue with a fantastic indoor-outdoor feel that has light streaming in through large glazed windows and thoughtfully placed plants, well designed seating that provide privacy, and a touch of theatre in the form of an open kitchen. The Chef is creative and the Café’s excellent menu shows contemporary flair, novel dishes and classic favourites. My scotch eggs were perfect, the sausage with great texture, eggs nicely runny, the dish beautifully crumbed and well cooked. Just one example of a classic dish updated for modern dining featuring great flavour combinations. Customer service at King of the Castle was efficient and friendly, and floor staff, chef and barista excelled. The main event was the coffee served with quality milk stretched perfectly, and the temperature just right. The beers and wines list is small but appropriate for the size and type of venue, and the value for money is excellent Well done team, the passion for what you do bursts out of every dish and drink. No wonder this is a great place to be seen on the Geelong café scene.
