The Crypt is unmistakably itself, and that is a huge part of its charm. Quirky, character-filled and proudly unique, the venue has a strong sense of identity from the moment you walk in. With a lively atmosphere, well-suited playlist and warm lighting, the space feels memorable, inviting and full of personality.

Service was a clear highlight, led by Savannah, whose warmth, confidence and genuine hospitality helped shape the experience from welcome to farewell. Her recommendations were thoughtful and spot on, including the “V for Vansetter”.

The drinks offering is a real strength. The cocktail list is considered and well balanced, with 12 cocktails and an impressive 6 non-alcoholic options giving guests genuine choice.

It is also fantastic to see The Crypt showcasing local and Victorian producers across its beverage list, including names such as Herbal Lore, Itinerant Spirits, Blackman’s Brewery, Chepstowe and Blackjack wineries. This local focus gives the drinks list a strong sense of place and celebrates the quality available in the region.

The food offering fits the venue beautifully, with the local honey baked brie standing out as a comforting and generous winter dish. Across the experience, The Crypt delivers strong value for money, with premium ingredients, generous food portions and a level of personality that makes the venue feel both distinctive and deeply enjoyable.
