Surfside Café is located at the Bellarine Aquatic centre in Ocean Grove. One of the gems from my last visit it continued to impress and the feedback online agrees. The combination of casual seating inside and sliding poolside window serving poolside is a clever layout. There a good all-day breakfast and lunch menu.

A friendly smile greeted us on arrival and continued throughout our stay. Well done to the owners for bringing together such a great little team. And the coffee was the best I had during round one judging!

The foods sampled hit the mark well: the beef burger was well cooked and the fresh filling of red onion, spinach and cheese was perfect, and the toastie was equally enjoyable. The selection of sweets was impressive for such a small venue. I sampled the chocolate truffles which was delicious and had a lovely soft centre.

The Surfside Café provides very good value for the simple meals and great coffee. $20 for have a fresh juice, fresh wraps, burger, a toasty, a delicious sweet treat, excellent coffee, plus friendly service is a valuable find!

The Surfside Café at the Bellarine Aquatic Centre in Shell Road Ocean Grove is a surprise package because were else would you find a smart café located at a swimming pool serving and roasting great coffees and providing good foods (freshly ground coffee or beans also available for sale)? You can relax inside the small café area with small or large share table or poolside, and there‘s also a bar area. The young well trained staff are friendly and you can enjoy breakfasts, lunch, healthy drinks, coffees and cakes with family and friends. The value for money was good.

Special strengths in 2021

Friendly Staff. Good Angus burgers, Schnitzel burgers, Born and Bread sourdough toast with Meredith Goats cheese. Good coffee. Real fruit smoothies. Good range of slices. Good value for money. Adding value to the pool experience!
