Five minutes from Geelong’s CBD, located in an industrial renewal project is a breath taking addition to the region’s dining scene. Beneath a landmark brick chimney, in the repurposed boiler house now serving as the 1915 Restaurant, a project of monumental industrial recycling and a feast for the eyes. All exposed red bricks and sparkling glass, the restaurant blends the industrial vibe of a bygone century with the most modern of amenities and a food & drink offering unlike anything else.

Wait staff knowledge of both the food and drinks menus was commendable and timing of service was really on point. Very impressive standard of FOH service overall from knowledgeable and engaging staff.

In the light and airy two-storey dining space you’ll be tempted by a delicious modern Mediterranean-leaning menu prepared by a talented team of chefs in their vast open kitchen. Kick off with a bespoke craft cocktail designed by the local legends of Anther Distillery who share the same roof. If you find the sharing menu too burdensome to read, you can always ‘trust the chef’ to send out a value packed 3 or 4 course menus to share as you pore over the 28-page drinks list for the perfect match to your eminently enjoyable meal. Or, better still ask the sommelier to suggest a drink and settle back and watch as the light through the massive Gothic window plays against the expertly renovated space. 1915 is exceptional in terms of Value for Money. The quality and quantity of the food offering is at the high end, and the menu pricing is remarkably moderate. Individual courses are very accessible and the ‘trust the chef’s’ menus deliver outstanding value at 3 courses $55 or 4 courses $75pp. Similarly drinks pricing is outrageously fair for the choices on offer. 1915 represents an evolution in modern sustainable dining; casual (fine) dining in a stunning historic landmark building in a value proposition that is second to none. Highly recommended.
