Cafe Go
Judges’ comments 2025:
Cafe Go is one of Geelong’s most enduring gems — a charming, slightly bohemian café tucked away on Bellerine Street that manages to feel both homey and buzzing with life. Step through the colourful front garden, and you’re greeted by mismatched chairs, local artwork, and the smell of excellent coffee.
The menu has something for everyone. The Persian Eggs are a standout — rich, spiced, and perfectly balanced — while the corn and zucchini fritters deliver that comforting, homemade feel with a modern twist. Vegetarians and vegans will feel looked after here, with creative options that go far beyond an afterthought.
What really sets Cafe Go apart is the warmth. The staff genuinely seem happy to be there, and regulars are greeted like old friends. Whether you’re grabbing a quick takeaway coffee or settling in for a long brunch in the leafy courtyard, it’s the kind of place that feels like your second lounge room — if your lounge room had better coffee and a chef.
