Wine judge, author and wine writer Jeremy Oliver described Warrenmang Vineyard Resort as "a charming little wine village with the best restaurant in Terra Australis". This tranquil paradise owned by Luigi and Athalie Bazzani is home to one of Victoria's most celebrated vineyard restaurants and the source of premium Pyrenees wines including the famous Black Puma Shiraz. The restaurant is open for breakfast through to dinner on Wednesday through to Saturday, and until 5.00 pm on Sundays, and through Long Weekends. There are set prices for lunch and dinner, plus an A la carte menu. Legendary customer service, magnificent views of the vineyards from within the restaurant or the sundeck, and roaring log fires in the winter.
Equidistant between Ballarat and Bendigo your arrival at Warrenmang Vineyard and Resortstimulates the palate after what can be a longish drive. The hillside location is dramatic, offering panoramic vistas. Guests are welcomed inside by the warmth of a log fire in the substantial stone fireplace. The Restaurant and chalet-style Resort set high above the Warrenmang vineyard, with dramatic Australian scenery is eerily reminiscent of the Italian hills around Emilia Romagna, home of founder, Luigi Bazzani. The restaurant sits on the edge of an escarpment with a generous deck for alfresco dining. A good humoured welcome is assured by knowledgeable staff and professional table service is maintained consistently. Food preparation is fresh and offers a veritable taste sensation. The Lunch Menu is sensibly modest in number of dishes yet rich in variety, and modestly priced. In addition to good entrees and mains there were impeccable desserts. We enjoyed the vanilla bean crème brulee with orange and raspberry coulis, and the rosemary and honey panna cotta with candied walnuts. Diners are spoiled for choice by an excellent selection of interesting wines produced both at the vineyard and in the locality, and an exceptional selection of cocktails, aperitifs, wines, beers and digestifs. Warrenmang vineyard and Resort offers very good restaurant dining at cafe prices – excellent value for money.
