Uforic Foods started four years ago as a blog about food and cooking, then in October 2013 morphed into a café and family business based in Mount Duneed (near Torquay). Offering quality coffee, food made with love and passion, and a gourmet range of specialty items you can take away, Uforic Food Café provides breakfasts, brunch, lunch or afternoon teas.

As you drive South along the Surf Coast Highway towards Torquay a row of brightly coloured beach boxes appear on your left – but one of these is the home of Uforic Food Café. Set among nurseries and gift stores Uforic Food cafe is worth a detour. Food blogger Lisa Mary Cummins and her husband Matty have built this business around warm welcoming service and comfort dishes cooked with passion. On our visit, home made pumpkin bread was stacked high with a jumping fresh avocado smash, crisp rocket ( Lisa’s brother owns Anglesea Fruitz) and a perfectly poached egg – breakfast is all day here. Matty looks after the coffee and when you pair it with a slice of one of the constantly changing house-made cakes you will know why many can’t resist that detour. The menu covers all the bases needed by a café with daily specials, sandwiches and cakes displayed in the fridge and local suppliers identified on the menu. Timing of our food and beverage service was good. Avocado smash was well prepared and presented, we particularly liked the roast tomatoes; the egg was poached perfectly and salad greens were fresh and carefully dressed. The warm apple and almond and cake was delicious, the salads great. Our waitress was excellent, made us feel welcome and the timing of the service was good. Uforic Foods Cafe serves well made dishes, good teas and coffees, the customer service was exceptional, prices modest, and the value for money good,
