It seems like a big ask – provide excellent food and drinks in wonderful surroundings to large groups simultaneously, while providing a quality dining experience. And yet QTrain has done it. The needs and wants of the foodie and tourists are catered for beautifully. 4 hours of adventure plus a degustation menu and a good choice of local wines and beers for a very reasonable price. The customer service on Q-Train was outstanding, including a reminder phone call before departure (a train can’t wait for latecomers), friendly meet and greet, and everyone served within minutes of each other. It was very slick and the food came to the table beautifully presented and at the correct temperature. The staff were friendly and chatty. Their uniforms were clean and neat. They looked happy to be there and were adept at moving about the moving train. They made you feel appreciated and valued. Each of the dishes looked attractive and tasted delicious especially given the constraints the kitchen is working under without gas, in limited space, and with a menu which must suit all tastes. The drinks list was exceptionally good. There are a pleasing number of local wines by the glass, local beers, and the inclusion of Mocktails broadens its appeal. Q-Train delivers far more than a restaurant can. This is a true adventure so make sure you explore the different carriages while aboard. It represents terrific value for money and a memorable way to dine in style.
