what the judges said (2018-2019)
Strong street appeal to this Sri Lankan café, large windows, and inside the layout is attractive and welcoming with the kitchen in sight for those who enjoy watching chefs in action. The menu is interesting and for those unfamiliar with the foods of Sri Lanka and gives an opportunity to try delicious new styles of cooking. The food looked as good as it tasted. The pan roll and fish cutlets were delicious and inexpensive. The two main dishes looked great with several small side bowls served separately. There is a strong emphasis on the tea and coffee at Rook with many options available. The latte art was particularly impressive and the coffee was good and served at the right temperature.Prices were low at this family friendly cafe and serving portions were generous.
