The Plough Bistro, Bar and B&B is situated in the tiny township of Myrniong (population around 210) half way between Melbourne and Ballarat. This C1800’s bluestone pub has been turned into a modern bistro but retains the character and charm of its history.

The Plough at Myrniong is a great place to enjoy meals with family & friends. Its a handsome and comfortable pub with an attractive outside courtyard eating area. The dining room has two fireplaces and soft subtle background music, good quality paper napkins and great décor add to the ambience. The beetroot gazpacho starter was refreshing and a great start to the meal. The calamari main had a perfect balance of spice, garnished with endive and zesty lemon aioli – tender succulent strips of perfectly cooked calamari. The twice cooked crispy pork belly was served with date sauce, cauliflower puree, crispy cauliflower garnish and micro herbs. The 36 hour blade steak was so tender it dissolved in your mouth. The Salmon was served with mushrooms, peas, caponata and a vanilla flavoured cherry tomato sauce. The coconut pannacotta was bursting with flavour with a pineapple sorbet. The wine list was extensive and showcased Regional Victoria, plus Australian and international wines. Customer service was very good including knowledge of the foods and drinks. The portion sizes were generous and the value for money good.
