Roasting coffee for the rhythms of the daily grind, Motobean is grounded in coffee culture both locally and from around the world. Everything is crafted in-house with coffee sourced, roasted and extracted by a team who push the boundaries of quality and innovation and provide a variety of brewing methods including cold brew, V60 pour over, batch brew filter and their feature coffee of the month. In the café the kitchen team sources local ingredients for the Melbourne-inspired food menu from a region full of quality produce and their own kitchen garden.
What a surprise it is to find such a place as Moto Bean Coffee Roasters in the small town of Malmesbury. Moto Bean is all glass and timber and motorbikes and coffee. The building itself is aesthetically appealing and on entering one is immediately struck by the fun ambience. Inside it’s cosiness central. There is interesting music, an open fire blazing with armchairs and couches in one section, a combustion fire in the dining area, and an alfresco area for good weather. Imagine stumbling across this while you’re out on a drive. The kids will love the space and robustness of the place. Mum and dad will love the foods, drinks and prices. There’s something for everyone to look at as well as enjoy great foods cooked with care. The breakfast menu, available all day, has a good variety of hearty dishes with one vegetarian option and vegetarian and vegan dishes. The food was delicious and hearty. This is something Moto Bean customers, including the motorbike enthusiasts will appreciate. The VB Big Breakfast in particular scored top points for the generous serves, Istra Sausage and homemade relish. The kids’ menu is terrific and there are plenty of options. There’s a small but good wine and beer menu. Well done Moto Bean.
