Head down Little Malop Street – the foodies paradise in the heart of Geelong’s CBD – and you’ll notice the sign to Mav’s tucked away behind a gallery. This inviting and lively space transports you to a Greek taverna in Santorini. The dining room features white and blue decor, soft Greek background music and foods to match. Customer service was excellent, warm, friendly and helpful. The range of foods on offer is delicious ranging from fresh seafood, meats and vegetarian options. Stand outs included the generous whitebait special, Saganaki grilled perfectly with a nice crust all round served with a lemon wedge, Pita bread perfectly cooked and the Tzatziki was tasty, soft and tangy lemon infused potatoes, light and fluffy Loukoumades and cinnamon syrup and walnuts dessert. There was a good range of red and white wines on offer, including local wines and numerous Greek wines by the glass. The value for money was extremely good. Mav’s is doing a lot of things right and is not to be missed.
Authentic Greek restaurant and atmosphere. Delicious foods and generous portions. Good wine list of local and Greek drops. Friendly and helpful service. Great value for money. An enjoyable experience.
