Malayan Orchid in View Street, CBD Bendigo is exceptional, featuring the combined talents of owners Bob and Pamela Yam. The restaurant is a combination of traditional and modern with white tablecloths, linen napkins and spotlessly clean. This makes every visit feel like a special occasion but Malayan Orchid is extremely affordable. Bob Yam is an outstanding chef creating wonderful meals from his extensive knowledge of Malayan, Chinese, and Thai cuisines. He blends flavours and ingredients superbly and presentation is first class. We highly recommend “Bob’s Menu” of 8 courses, tailored to the customer from the choicest produce available on the day. A fabulous journey of exotic produce, beautiful flavours and spectacular presentation. Pamela Yam guides her front of house team with charm and a sharp eye to detail. Our 8 courses started with duck shank in broth, honey mustard lobster, soft shell crab with noodles and laksa, Moreton Bay Bugs, eye fillet with soy, truffle and mushroom. Malayan Orchid is a highlight of Bendigo’s restaurant scene. The standards are high and the value for money outstanding. Highly recommended.
