As soon as you enter Le Peche Gourmond in the small town of Creswick outside Ballarat you know you are in for a rare treat. It’s like stepping into a Parisian café where the jewel-like cakes are a tribute to long standing traditions – no gimmicks – but a pleasing symphony of quality ingredients skillfully prepared with pride. The tempting displays featured small quantities on racks constantly refilled to ensure freshness. The salad accompanying the vegetarian croissant and the Croque Monsieur was lovely and simple – a mix of greens dressed with a excellent mustard vinaigrette. The pricing was surprisingly low for such well made delicacies, and the coffees were great. Visitors and regular customers clearly love Le Peche Gourmand in Creswick and doubtless you will too.
