If you are in the vicinity of Apollo Bay we recommend you visit the Great Ocean Road Brewhouse. This was our first visit and we enjoyed the experience very much. It offers good honest pub food, a wonderful selection of beers, and a good range of local and regional wines by the bottle or glass. The owners have managed to keep the building’s old world charm while updating it’s facilities to modern standards. Staff were friendly, helpful and had good knowledge of the beverages and meals, and a willingness to offer advice. For entrée we opted for garlic bread and delicious Southern Style Drumsticks – the four pieces making a generous serve. We sampled the Chicken Parma with good balance of ham, napoli, cheese on quality schnitzel, and other pub staples such as the delicious  Porterhouse Steak (200 GM making a perfect size for lunch – chargrilled exactly as ordered, with a good pepper sauce). The traditional sticky date pudding was good and enjoyable. Plus good coffee, courtesy of local roasters Hello Coffee Grinders. Theme nights through the week added interest and value for money to the Brewhouse.
