The Forge Pizzeria in Strurt Street has been so popular that we have now opened and all new Forge Pizzaria in the centre of Ballarat at 14 Armstrong Street North. The new Forge is a larger venue that seats up to 100 guests in an imaginatively restored double fronted building that for around 100 years was the well known Jones furniture store. Pizzas remain our main dish but now there is a wider range of beautifully presented Italian foods to enjoy. It's no secret that Wood Fired pizza is the benchmark when it comes to pizza. Using freshly made dough and the best ingredients help but it's the Wood Fired Pizza Oven that adds the final touch.

what the judges said (2016-2017)
The Forge Pizzeria in Armstrong Street, CBD Ballarat is big, bustling and the place to be on a Saturday night in winter. Imaginatively converted from a former retail shop, there are soaring ceilings, handsome brickwork, polished concrete floors and chunky furniture created from old doors and the like. The front of house an kitchen personnel were expert in what they do, and looked happy doing it. The place buzzes with energy and good humour. It was Country Week when we visited and basket-ballers of all ages were pouring through the door and staff efficiently tended to their demands and kept them (and us) very content. It was a joy to watch the interplay – full marks for service! The Forge is well known for its excellent and generous sized Pizzas, but there’s much more on offer besides. The pizzas were superb with great texture, flavours and freshness. The rocket side salad was simple and tasty. This place does delicious simple foods to a very high standard. On the drinks list there’s a rotating range of beers on tap, and a long list of beers and ciders with their place of origin listed. The drinks included a good range of local and regional wines with some available by the glass. The coffee was exceptional using coffee roasted locally, served with Inglewood milk, and presented nicely at the perfect temperature. The bonuses at the Forge include good food and drink, great atmosphere, friendly service and excellent value for money. No wonder the Forge is so popular.
