Five Flags Hotel Campbells Creek

Traditional family-friendly country hotel offering good meals and value for money

What the judges’ said in 2019

The Five Flags in Campbells Creek (five minutes from Castlemaine) is a charming, popular, family-friendly hotel that serves meals of high quality and exceptional value for money.  This traditional looking country hotel serves a good range of skilfully prepared, delicious and hearty meals. The atmosphere is welcoming and there’s exceptional value for money here. Multiple eating areas include a sheltered rear garden for the warmer months. Now under the management of enthusiastic new owners Yvonne, Neville and Michael Purchase, the Five Flags has a very enjoyable atmosphere. Chef Rory Brown (formerly Brougham Arms Bendigo) uses his considerable skills, experience and quality local produce to work his magic in the kitchen, and there’ are good choices in wines, beers and ciders (including local drops).  Like most hotels orders are placed at the bar but the dining experience compares favourably with most restaurants.  Five Flags is a fine example of how good a well run country pub can be!
