Eastern Spice

Eastern Spice, Not your typical Indian joint! The food at Eastern Spice will make you experience the richness of the country it comes from; with every bite you will feel that it is indeed a fitting gift from India to wonderful city Geelong! The menu begins with Indian street food, continues with classic curries, naan from the tandoor and finishes with homemade dessert. You will not find the typical Indian restaurant menu of endless types of curry here. The menu here is as varied as the land it comes from, and just like the land it has adapted itself beautifully to the many changes. The menu here is traditional with a modern touch, classic with an exotic flair, same goes for the way it is cooked traditionally with modern ways. We hope as you pass through our doors, you will feel the hospitality spirit of our beloved India, where it is always an honour to feed a guest. So join me in my delightful culinary journey and relish what I have learnt. - Manpreet Sekhon Owner/Head Chef

It is time an Indian Restaurant started to entice us from the predictible worlds of Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo, there is so many more wonderful dishes in the world of India Cuisine.  At Eastern Spice you will definitely enjoy their high quality on offer. The samosas are an exceptional example. But when you explore new dishes, techniques and flavours with modern twists on the Indian classics Eastern Spice offers great experiences. Dishes such as naan filled with beetroot, goats cheese and rosemary or butternut pumpkin with roasted cumin and green mango dust give a nod to western ingredients while taking you deeper into the flavours of the sub-continent. On our visit, chilli naan speckled with generous slices of fresh green chilli worked beautifully with an aromatic rockling curry. A Chicken Biryani released its aroma as the lid was lifted from its pretty oven dish at our table; a pot of raita brought the dish together as we hungrily spooned the fluffy rice and generous chicken pieces on to our plates.  We finished our meal with beautifully balanced iced Mango Kulfi  – delicious! The dining room has a warm, stylish feel with the obvious asset of it’s views across the park to Corio Bay. Napkins are good quality and along with linen tablecloths give a crisp, clean feel. There was a fairs selection of drinks an both the food and drinks are moderately priced offering very good value for money. Congratulations to Eastern Spice for offering excellent foods that are rare to find. Well worth the trip to Geelong.
