Black Bull Tapas is an excellent restaurant. Enter Black Bull Tapas Bar and feel like you have been taken to Spain for an evening. Exposed red brick walls with Spanish inspired pictures surround the dining areas, Hispanic music playing in the background. There is tapas style eating to be enjoyed with local or Spanish beers and wines, and a choice of ciders suitable for any dish you choose to eat. There is a good range of entrees and shared plates, and separate menus available for gluten free and vegetarians. The ingredients were fresh – the calamari taco with red cabbage, corn, quinoa, feta, onion, parsley, with grilled tender pieces of calamari very appetising. Very tasty Romesco sauce with the empanadas with pastry nicely crisp on the outside. The tomato passata on the meatballs was flavoursome. Leche frita was cooked perfectly, golden brown and crisp on the outside. The rich Choc Fudge for a petit four with coffee was a lovely surprise. Timing between courses was good. The were a diverse range of dishes to suit a variety of customers offering shared plates and generous portions. The food and drinks represented excellent value for money.
