What the first Judges said in 2019
Basils Farm is a great poster boy for paddock to plate. From the moment you arrive you are surrounded by the vineyard, gardens and vegetable patch bursting with produce, not to mention the lamas, runner ducks and sheep. The food, wine and service are passionately prepared and craving to be enjoyed. Stand outs included the mushroom truffle risotto bursting with flavours and delicious cottage style desserts. Basils Farm produces enough great wine varieties to comprise the entire wine list, all available by the glass. Four of the regions better known brewers make up the beer list. The excellent single origin coffee came from another local source – Geelong’s Woolshed Coffee. The customer service staff were fantastic, including the farmer’s daughter. Given the emphasis on superb local produce and delightful ambience and service at Basilis Farm – the value for money was exceptional.
Delightful farm setting. Freshest paddock to plate produce. Family friendly. Quality foods and drinks. Delightful customer service. A great experience. Great value for money.
