State Winner 2016:  The Avoca Hotel

Eateries from all parts of Victoria can take part in the Golden Plate Awards. Each are judged twice without notice by independent experts in hospitality.  Winners and Finalists are determined on the basis of the average scores of two judges for each Award.

Awards are granted in each Award Territory and for the State of Victoria in six venue categories and seven Special Recognition Awards:

  • Best Chef (judged in a cook-off of the 12 best chefs nominated by the judging panel)

  • Best Menu of Local Foods
  • Best Menu of Local Wines, Beers and Ciders
  • Best Value for Money
  • Peoples’ Choice Award (judged by the public)
